How To Rooting LT25i -Sony Xperia V (Unlocked Bootloader) & install TWRP Recovery Guide

Sony Xperia V was released in Dec 2012 having a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU. If you have Sony Xperia V and wish to something new on this device then you must root your Xperia V. Here we’ve given a step by step guide that how to root Sony Xperia V and install a custom recovery (TWRP Recovery) on it. So that you’ll able to flash custom ROMs, create/restore backups and other a lot of customizations.

Before Getting Started:
  • Make a proper back up of all your data such as Messages, MMS, Contents, Call Logs and Contacts etc.
  • Your Xperia V bootloader should be unlocked to use this guide.  Please visit Sony Mobile site unlock Bootloader.
  • Download & Install the Universal ADB Drivers on your PC.
  • Download Xperia.V.TWRP.Kernel.9.0.1.D.0.10.elf and adb-fastboot.zip
  • Your Xperia V should be running the 9.0.D.0.484 firmware.
  • Download SU-Busybox-Installer.zip (Under the For 9.0.D.0.484 section)
  • Your device’s battery should be charged at least up to 80% or more before you begin.
  • Steps To Install Unsecure Kernel/TWRP Recovery on Sony Xperia V
Step No 1.  First of all extract adb-fastboot.zip on the desktop of your PC.
Step No 2.  Now move Xperia.V.TWRP.Kernel.9.0.1.D.0.10.elf to that extracted folder.
Step No 3.  Put your Xperia V into FastBoot Mode. First turn it off and then press and hold the Volume Up button and connect Xperia V to PC via its USB Data cable.  If a blue LED light up, it means that your device is now in FastBoot Mode.
Step No 4.  Within the extracted adb-fastboot folder, open the command prompt window.
Step No 5.  Type the following command and hit enter:

fastboot flash boot Xperia.V.TWRP.Kernel.9.0.1.D.0.10.elf

This will install TWRP Recovery on your Xperia V device!
Steps To Root Sony Xperia V
Step No 1.  Now we’ll start to root Xperia V. First connect your Xperia V to PC and transfer the SU-Busybox-Installer.zip that you’ve already downloaded from the above link, to your device’s internal SD card’s root folder, NOT into any subfolders.
Step No 2.  Now disconnect your device from the PC.
Step No 3.  Power OFF your device and boot into TWRP  Recovery mode; as your device is powered OFF, press and hold the Volume Down button when you see the pink LED glow.
Step No 4.  While your device is in TWRP, simply tap on the Install Button and browse to select the SU-Busybox-Installer.zip
Step No 5.  Swipe the “Swipe to Confirm Flash” button on the next screen.
Step No 6.  Reboot your device, once flashed.
The Superuser app will be appeared in your app drawer once your Xperia V reboots.

  • Enable Unknown sources option in Settings -> Security.

Step No 1:- First of all extract the Z2-Community_RootKit.zip file that you’ve already downloaded from the above file and open the extracted folder.

Step No 3:- Here find the RUNME.bat and run it.
Step No 4:- A cmd window will be appeared on your PC.
Step No 5:- Just follow the on-screen instructions carefully.
Step No 6:- Reboot your Xperia Z2 after the root script is finished.
